Thee Pitts Again

Thee Pitts Again
Thee Pitts Again is a Glendale restaurant that was featured on The Food Network Show "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives".

I have never eaten here, and have heard mixed reviews from the locals. Someday I am going to have to try it.

Memorial Day

This is the statue of Pat Tillman outside the University of Phoenix Stadium where the NFL Arizona Cardinals play their home football games.

Tillman was an Arizona State University and Arizona Cardinals football player. In 2002, shortly after the attack on the World Trade Center, Tillman left his professional football career (and the millions of dollars that came with it) to become a U.S. Army Ranger. He was killed by friendly fire in 2004 while serving in Afghanistan.

On this Memorial Day, we wish to remember Pat and all the other brave men and women who have given their lives in service to their country.

A Duet For One

Here is another picture from the jazz festival in Glendale last month. Maybe this is a common practice among saxophone players, but it's the first time I have ever seen it.

Ghost Riders In The Sky

This old tractor sits atop a pole outside a business in Glendale that sells compost. There are many other old pieces of equipment like this scattered around underneath it on the ground. As we drove away I noticed some Longhorns grazing in the back. I'm going to have to make a trip back and get a photo.

Saxophone

Last weekend was the 27th annual Glendale Jazz and Blues Festival. (Jazz on the West Side - yeah!)  I would have loved to have taken this piece of metal art home with me. If only I had a wall big enough on which to hang it.

Anyone Lose A Moose?

Actually, this picture was taken at Westgate in August when it was 110 degrees.
