Theme Thursday - Reason
"Reason in man is rather like God in the world."
Theme Thursday takes me back to one of my favorite places in the Valley, the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Avondale.
St. Thomas, the "Angelic Doctor", was a medieval Catholic priest of the Dominican order and is considered the Church's greatest theologian and philosopher. He was the foremost classical proponent of natural theology, a branch of theology based on reason and ordinary experience, and the father of the Thomistic school of philosophy and theology.
Please visit our friends at Theme Thursday for more posts about Reason. (Haha! We did it!)

A place I should visit once.
No contradiction between reason and faith makes things look easy to accept.

Lovely! Great sculpture.
We need more reason today.
Beautiful quote! I agree with Dave, more reason in the world would be a very good idea.
How does that quote go
"......I reason why
whether to do or die"
THomas is one of the beloved saints. MB
This TT prompt has started an interesting cross-blog debate about reason vs faith/belief... and I do think St Thomas gave us the answer.
Lovely picture! happy TT
Beautiful shot and good info. Dave said what I was thinking.
The light here makes him glow. And I agree with Dave too.
I like the way that you have caught the light falling across his face. A timely comment on the theme too.
Nice lighting and very interesting topic.
I agree with Dave too. Great shot!
