The Soil is Itching....

and I have the need to scratch.  It's that time of year here in Arizona when the weather backs down from a blast furnace to cool nights and warm days.  I love gardening this time of year and I can hardly wait to get things started.

I'm itching, too! I bought 2 large bags of California poppy seeds at Lowe's and I might stop by Home Depot this morning. It's still a little early here in the low desert, but I'm anxious to get my seeds into the ground!

I am on the east coast, and didn't realize you would plant at this time of year. How long will you get "life" out of the seeds you plant now? All winter?

Yes, I'm also surprised about planting this time of year. Hope your wildflowers turn out as pretty and colorful as those on the package.

I am GREEN...green with envy that is. Our growing season is winding down, which means only one thing. Snow and ice cannot be far behind.

I got that itch too! Can't wait to pull out the vincas and put in petunias. I have to chuckle over the comments from all those people who just can't figure out how we can plant this time of the year. This is when our gardens flourish!

My wife has got the same itch. We changed house recently, no garden anymore, and it's hard

You will have to keep us posted on how your garden grows!

But up here in the Arizona mountains, the flowers are about to give up for the winter.

I'm a sucker for the Home Depot plants - do you have good luck with seeds? Maybe I will try it out...

I was born in Phoenix and don't miss the summers at all. Glad that the sun has let loose enough to plant.

Such a nice feeling!

Enjoy your garden! We will soon be "tilling" in our gardens for winter. So many plants need to be burried in a pile of leaves. I am sure you'll be seeing a lot of invading retirees from Minnesota in the coming months.
