A few old cars were on display at the fireworks show at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park last weekend. I don't really know much about cars, but I think this was a Rolls Royce. I just thought the flags were cool. The very idea that Britain and the U.S. became allies after a rather contentious start in history kind of blows my mind. Can’t we all just get along? :-)

You made me think of an event a little over 10 years ago when I was working a contract in Chicago. I went to Toronto for the weekend and on Saturday morning walked along the lakeshore where dozens of crisp flags were flapping in the wind. It took me an hour or so to realize all the flags were American and I was in Canada. I asked someone what was going on and they explained it was a commemoration of one of historic the battles between the US and Canada. If our two countries weren't such good friends, that would have made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

Love the glamor of the Rolls but am also partial to the more blue collar cars behind, maybe because they represent what most American were driving. Of course now they're super hip!
When you look all over the world, getting along is a bit like wishful thinking unfortunately.
Your Rolls is gorgeous, reminds me of my childhood in England. No, I never stepped inside one but saw lots and lots and lots of them and this one with the badges (though I can't make out if they are RAC etc.) looks like I'm back in the 70s in London!
