“A bad day on the water is better ..."

boat

"...than a good day at work.”

This is a sure sign that summer has arrived in the Valley. As temperatures rise, the fishing boats give way to the speed boats. We used to have a little 18 foot ski boat (not nearly as large as the one you see here) and spent many summer weekends on the water. Boats like the one above are called “pickle forks” because of the design of the front bow.

Being close to any kind of water is a must in Az...

Wish we were zipping along on some lake in that boat right now! It's so hot here in Indiana, and the humidity so high that I'm about to set up the kiddie pool...for myself!

“Pickle forks” are a good name for that design! I hardly ever see any kinds of boats in my area, probably because there is not enough water around here to use them.

Don't see many speed boats here... bass boats are more common. But up near Lake George... Lakes are one thing New York has in abundance.

I haven't been on a boat like this in about a hunnert years! (I've been looking at pictures of Texas all afternoon and I tend to slip into the vernacular ~ sorry!)
