Skywatch Friday - Ocotillo

(ō'kə-tē'): A cactus like tree (Fouquieria splendens) of Mexico and the southwest United States, having clusters of scarlet tubular flowers.

Spring has been very good to the ocotillos.

You can enjoy additional sky photos at Sky Watch Friday.

Beautiful specimen. Why was I thinking these were chollas? I just looked one up on Google images and they are no way similar. Thanks for bringing these to my attention so that I now really know what they are.

Is this your last day at work?
