Bartlett Lake

You may not know this (or maybe you do) but Arizona has many lakes. In the Valley, the lakes are reservoirs for the spring run off of the melting snow in the northern mountains. The water then travels along man made canals to the Phoenix area.

This lake, near Cave Creek / Carefree, is one of the many fishing and boating destinations for Phoenix area residents.

Remind me of Crater Lake in Oregon. Much smaller though. So BLUE!

The lake looks like a blue gem in the middle of your photo. The other colours in the picture complement one another very well.

Great shot, Tracy. Beautiful color.

PS You know it's me...sometimes I have to comment on your photos even though it's our blog.

Such a color contrast. Love them little lakes.

It is funny how all animals know the home vehicles. Same here. MB

I'll bet it's even fuller now! (Is that word, fuller?) You're right - most people think Arizona looks like the Sahara! We need to educate them on what is a high desert.

Happy Easter!

It sounds like a fun place to go to. And I hope it's going to stay open in the future. The coming closure of National Parks in Arizona is not fun at all.
