Mirrors - Theme Thursday

Mirrors…I have questions about mirrors.

Does time run backward in a mirror? If I lived my life as my image, would I grow younger?

Is my life like an accordion of mirrors where at the point they touch I alternately live younger to older and then back again?

Do mirrors take pieces of my soul like pictures? If so, will I eventually disappear after so many pictures and lingering looks in the mirror?

Is the person I see as myself in my mind the real me, or is that person with grey hair and wrinkles looking back from my mirror the real me?

If I stand in front of a mirror while holding a mirror, what is reflected back to me – myself or my reflection?

If what I see in a mirror is something’s opposite, is sunlight really moonlight?

Can people from other worlds watch me through my mirrors as I recently read in a book? Or is that just so much fiction like carving symbols in their foreheads to send them back to that world?

Alice wasn’t the only one who had issues with mirrors….

Yeah, the one about gray hair and wrinkles! I remember many years ago my mother saying, "I wake up in the morning feeling like I was still 20 and then look in the mirror and wonder who is that old lady." I can now relate to her lament!

Ah, but IS moonlight the opposite of sunlight?

Magpie said...

Well, let's think about that JeffScape.

Since moonlight is really reflected sunlight, then moonlight really is just sunlight...reflected. And since my image in a mirror is just me...reflected, but flipped...then I guess we can surmise that moonlight is just flipping sunlight. ;)

But if light is the opposite of light, where does that leave dark?

;)

:D

JeffScape,

Out in the dark???

And ponder also....

"If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning: just as, if there were no light in the universe and therefore no creatures with eyes, we should never know it was dark. Dark would be without meaning." C.S. Lewis
