Guardians of the Graveyard.

There is a very old cemetery in Buckeye. Today while helping a friend find a
family member's gravesite, we were watched constantly by several
of these Burrowing Owls. They would move silently from perch to perch.
We wouldn't hear them moving, but we would look up and there they were.
They take their vigil seriously and were very happy when we left.

I'm sure they do a good job.

I love owls but I don't think I've ever seen one, even as a girl growing up in the country. I may have to take a drive out to Buckeye and look for them!

Great shots. I don't think I've ever seen an owl like this except in captivity. They must have been interesting to watch.

Adorable little critters. We used to have these all over the town years ago but the town grew and the owls left.

How neat and yet a little spooky. Great shots of the owls. MB
